Since September 2016, Peak Forest Primary has been part of an exciting collaboration project with Great Hucklow Primary, just 5 miles away. The headteacher shares her time equally between the two schools and the collaboration governors meet 3 times a year. More importantly, the children have lots of shared experiences together which greatly enhances their time at school. For example, amongst many others, the children from both schools have done lots of sporting activities together, shared fortnightly sessions of community music, visited each other’s schools for work on the space programme and the school play, taken part in a cluster debate and attended two residential trips. The children love getting together and have fed back to governors that they would like to meet up more. The staff are also benefitting from a larger staff team who can share planning and resources and who can share experience and advice.
